Two popular models from leading luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo are set to create a wave of interest at this month’s Perth International Boat Show with Maritimo’s official on water brand display.
The superior long range cruising capabilities of Maritimo, perfected for the Western Australian coastline, has seen approximately 50 Maritimo vessels delivered to the region over the years.
Announced by show organiser’s to be the biggest and most exciting Perth International Boat Show to date, Maritimo and local representatives Oceaneer Marine Brokers and Yachts West Marine are excited to invite existing and future Maritimo owners to meet with Maritimo representatives and customer service team, whilst experiencing the latest releases from the M-Series Enclosed Flybridge and X-Series Sport Coupe ranges.
Oceaneer Director Brad Arnup and Yachts West Director Adam Greer said that the key design and engineering elements in both X50 Sport Coupe and M51 Enclosed Flybridge models separated Maritimo’s product from anything else on the market in the region.
“Maritimo’s long range and ocean going attributes are well recognized and appreciated in Western Australia considering the local cruising culture and varying sea conditions that local boaters are familiar with” said Arnup.
Arnup said the introduction of the new X-Series Sport Coupe range to Perth boat buyers would appeal to those with specific height and bridge clearance requirements, whilst maintaining the shaft drive technology and ocean going heritage of its M-Series Enclosed Flybridge predecessors known throughout Western Australia.
“The single level profile and height of the X50 sport yacht will enable X50 and X60 Sport Coupes to utilise many waterways in WA, mainly in the Mandurah region, where bridge heights are totally restrictive to flybridge vessels.”
“Another key design attribute of both the M51 Enclosed Flybridge and X50 Sport Coupe that we have on display is that the design team have kept the overall length within a 16.0m limit, offering a wider range of mooring options at Rottnest Island where the opportunity to utilise a Blue Disc is highly prized for family vessels of this size and volume,” said Arnup.
Greer said the helm position in the X50 gave the owner a great sense of feel for the vessel with its superior engineering giving instant response at any speed.
“Another plus is that all those on board can comfortably sit in the salon lounge, whilst still communicating with the skipper, and enjoying 360 degree views from the Maritimo Vista saloon window design,” said Greer.
Both dealers said the M51 Enclosed Flybridge would have broad appeal as Western Australian’s were already fans of flybridge cruisers with sport fishing capability. They said the optional sport fish cockpit design across all M-Series models through new factory custom division ‘Maritimo One’ would appeal to many locals set on long range fishing expeditions.
Oceaneer has been representing the brand since 2014 with Yachts West involved for the past 11 years.
Maritimo plans an action-packed program for the show including an organised VIP trip to Rottnest Island with the X50 and the M51, an owners lounge throughout the show, and an invitation only VIP event on Saturday night.
Maritimo lead designer Tom Barry-Cotter said the company was excited to be displaying the two new models with the X50 Sport Coupe being a Perth X-Series premiere, giving Maritimo the opportunity to showcase the brand’s intelligent design, race infused engineering and superior craftsmanship to the WA market.
“We are excited to interact with our Perth Maritimo family and look forward to sharing the latest design and technology infused within the latest X50 Sport Coupe and M51 Enclosed Flybridge, whilst being present for questions regarding product knowledge and boating tips for all Maritimo’s cruising Western Australian waterways.
The X50 sport yacht, which is the very latest in the revolutionary X series range of sport coupes from Maritimo, has seen the success of the range continued after the X60 caused an international sensation following its 2018 premiere, with record international orders recorded for both models.
He said the response to the X-Series range was a vote of confidence in Maritimo’s innovative design and trusted shaft technology and performance.
The X50, with its world first sport coupe aft cabin accommodation options, has been showcased at exhibitions throughout Australia, New Zealand and North America where it will be featured during the remainder of 2019.
“The new X50 features a customizable aft accommodation space that increases the size of total living accommodations whilst engineering design neutrally balances the hull, and reduces straight shaft angle for enhanced performance, fuel economy and ride comfort,” he said. “Accessible from both saloon and swim platform deck, the aft accommodation space features a standard beach club cabin with ensuite. The area has been perfected for use as an entertainment and watersports hub, with the added ability to convert to guest stateroom via a standard hideaway double bed integrated into the rear bar.”
Versatility designed into the X50’s aft accommodation space also enables this area to be optioned and utilised as a twin single stateroom with ensuite or tender garage.
Advantages achieved through the X50’s innovative accommodation design are not limited to just unique versatile spaces, but also integrate critical balance and performance characteristics via the neutral positioning of engines and mass whilst optimising drive shaft angle
“As world leaders in shaft driven performance, the X50 is designed and constructed to meet expectations of delivering class leading fuel economy, range, high speed cruise and oceangoing comfort that we are recognised for,” said Barry-Cotter.
The X50 design department has gone further than ever in the analysis of waterflow over the hull. All underwater components have been analysed and designed with an obsessive consideration of drag reduction, creating as efficient a hull as possible.
In addition to the X-Series’ aft accommodation features and options, the new X50 includes two expansive staterooms and ensuites in the forward accommodation spaces. The full beam master stateroom with queen bed (king optional), desk, day bed, drawer unit, full height hanging locker and panoramic hull windows, is enhanced in size due to the space acquired with the guest accommodations relocating aft when compared with traditional arrangements. The forward stateroom design features an innovative offset queen bed with connecting ensuite. The offset bed design maximises available floor space, enabling easier access around and into bed. Integrated hull side windows inject panoramic vistas into each cabin and there are through hull portlights for further ventilation.
The salon design incorporates optional sliding vista windows that flank each side of the hard top letting in an abundance of light and air. An optional galley positioned sunroof provides even more light and ventilation.
The automotive inspired dashboard and helm is ergonomically designed for both comfort and control. Maritimo Racing function and equipment interface experience is inbuilt at every level.
Barry-Cotter said the Maritimo signature large family galley design was incorporated into the rear of the salon, with upright fridge freezer, dish washer, cooktop, convection microwave, full height pull-out pantry, island bench, and various cupboards and drawers.
The vast cockpit space features either heavy weather bi-fold or sliding cockpit-salon doors dependent on cockpit seating options. Protective walk around decks connect the cockpit with the forward deck entertainment area, featuring sun lounge bed and lift up backrests.
The upgraded fully enclosed M51 Flybridge motor yacht was revealed for the first time at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.
Maritimo M-Series enclosed flybridge motoryachts are renowned for their ocean going engineering and performance with functional design perfect for waters in WA.
Maritimo has engrained the fully enclosed climate controlled skylounge with internal staircase access into its product identity throughout the world with a design that creates a totally unique boating experience. The latest M51 design has undergone major exterior transformations along with interior refinements from previous editions.
Barry-Cotter said boat users will be simply amazed at the quality of craftsmanship, intelligent engineering and performance characteristics of these vessels.
“Maritimo has continually been leaders of flybridge motor yachts internationally for 15 years,” he said.
“With Maritimo’s trusted race infused, industry leading shaft technology, climate controlled sky lounge, comfort and ease of maneuverability around the vessel for owners of all ages, I am confident new visitors to the brand and owners from our Maritimo family will be amazed at these new models.”
