Iconic Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo, has just given one of its South East Asian clients the ultimate Christmas present with the handover of a sleek new M70 cruising motor yacht which it says is the most sophisticated and high tech motor yacht it has ever produced.
Named “Dragon Pearl” the M70 cruising motor yacht is decked out with more than AUD$1.3 million in optional extras including state of the art satellite navigation and entertainment equipment including more than AUD$80,000 in sound systems and televisions.
The owner’s brief was that he must have telephone and television reception no matter where he was in the world so the vessel has been fitted out with the most up to the minute communication systems available.
“Dragon Pearl was painted a stunning royal blue and so was her 26 foot Chris Craft tender which will be dispatched around the world in advance of the motor yacht arriving at her various exotic locations.
The Chris Craft will be transported on her own trailer along with a specially fitted out 40 foot container that will precede the vessel to her various destinations. The container is jam packed with ‘water toys’ including two Sea Doo’s , two Seabobs, paddle boards, surfboards, kayaks, fishing and diving gear, compressors and assorted water sports equipment.
Maritimo’s General Manager of Operations Phil Candler said the company had never before produced a bespoke boat of the caliber of Dragon Pearl .
“There were more than 250 custom options included in the vessel and the owner has spared no expense decking it out with the very latest equipment from all over the globe.” he said. “The sound system is to die for with three Bang and Olufsen televisions including a 55 inch screen in the flybridge.”
Phil said the owner had engaged a full time Captain, Chef/Hostess and a First Mate to crew Dragon Pearl. He said the owner’s representatives have supervised the entire manufacture of the boat, including full time supervision in the final six weeks. The owner also commissioned a videographer to photograph and video the entire build process of the vessel from day one to the formal handover ceremony.
“This owner is fastidious in terms of what he wants and the standards that he expects and I am pleased to say that we have been able to work closely with he and his representatives in delivering the ultimate pre-Christmas present,” he said.
“We have never spent more man-hours on a boat than we have on Dragon Pearl and our production, design and development teams have done an exceptional job with this boat. The end result is stunning. Dragon Pearl has aft crew quarters in the lazarette and additional accommodation for crew in the flybridge. It is also equipped with a gyro stabilizer and internally features Maritimo’s signature Wenge timber finish throughout.”
Phil said the boat will spend the immediate future cruising the waters off the Australian coastline and will then embark further afield. He said it would possibly be on display at the Singapore Yacht Show in April.
The vessel was sold to the South East Asian businessman by Spencer Ship based in Monaco through one of its affiliated brokers, G Yachts also based in Monaco.
