The first major boat show for the 2016 season, this month’s The Miami International Boat Show, will provide a good indication of the strength of the market internationally for the rest of the year, according to Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo.
Maritimo’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, said the company had a significant display planned for Miami which is being held over the President’s Day weekend from February 11 to 15.
He said forward indications were positive and he expected that Maritimo would attract a lot of attention with its flybridge cruising motor yacht range.
This year the show promises to be bigger and better than ever with more than 1200 boats on display. The Maritimo display will be located in Collins Avenue.
“We will be displaying four cruising motor yachts, the M48, the M50, and the M65,” he said.
“All indications are that this year’s show is shaping up to be one of the best and we expect strong interest particularly with our full beam master staterooms.”
Maritimo will be represented by its lead USA distributor, Galati Yacht Sales, which is one of the largest operators in the country, but it will also have dealers from Canada, Seattle, Newport Beach, New York and the Caribbean at its Miami display.
Haines said Maritimo had an extremely strong year of international sales in 2015 and with the USA economy showing early signs of improvement this year should also be positive.
“Our strategy to raise the bar in terms of interior fit out quality and overall design of the various models in the Maritimo range has paid off handsomely,” he said.
“The current exchange rate is also helpful and makes us very competitive against some of the bigger manufacturers in the USA.”
Haines said Maritimo would be represented at all the major boat shows in the USA and Europe again this year and had increased its international dealer network in anticipation of improved economic and market conditions.
“Our brand awareness is building around the globe.”
