Australia’s luxury cruiser manufacturer, Maritimo, has continued its philanthropic programme of fundraising initiatives to provide support for selected charities throughout Australia.
Maritimo was proud to support the Starlight Children’s Foundation annual fundraising event last year, the Sydney Star Ball, raising thousands of dollars for the charity by providing a Maritimo Ultimate Experience prize package for the event auction.
The weekend experience at Surfers Paradise included relaxed calm water cruising in a Maritimo luxury cruiser, limo airport transfers, five star restaurant dinners and accommodation, and the focus of the prize – the ultimate adrenalin rush with an opportunity to co-pilot Maritimo’s World Championship Offshore Race Boat at speeds of more than 160 kilometres an hour.
Describing his experience earlier this month, the prize winner, Sydney based businessman Michael Ebeid, said:
“It was a real speed rush – much like skydiving. I loved the sound of the engines on the Maritimo race boat and being in control of the wheel, I felt like a racing driver. It was such a thrill I really felt like a little kid, and it took me hours before I could wipe the smile off my face.”
“The whole weekend was brilliant, from landing at the airport to the return transfer. The Maritimo team that gave up their weekend to host us was so professional, every detail was taken care of, and they really looked after us. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience, but absolutely worth it for a great cause such as the Starlight Children’s Foundation.”
The mission of the Starlight Children’s Foundation is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, teenagers and their families across Australia.
Maritimo Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg Haines, said “We have helped Starlight raise tens of thousands of dollars and we are pleased to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.”
